Italy Airports
Alitalia plane photo by Cliff Flickr Creative CommonsItaly's food, wine, countryside and Roman history attracts visitors by the bucketload- well over 40 million tourist arrivals per year. Large airports service the main hotspots- Leonardo da Vinci Airport in Rome, Amerigo Vespucci Airport in Florence, Marco Polo Airport in Venice and Malpensa Airport in Milan. Along with smaller airports in Palermo (on the island of Sicily), Naples, Genoa, Pisa and Bologna, these will transport tourists to the north, south, coasts and tourist attractions of Italy. There are airports in various other centres, and like in most European countries a comprehensive train system serves for travel further afield. Visa information for visitors to Italy can be found here: http://www.esteri.it/visti/index_eng.asp (in English).
