The Netherlands has 5 commercial airports, of which the largest is in Amsterdam, called Amsterdam Airport Schipol. Amsterdam alone, an increasingly popular destination due to its multicultural, tolerant and laid back urban culture, attracts 5 million visitors per year. The other 4 airports are located to the north in Groningen, to the west in Rotterdam and to the south in Eindhoven and Maastricht (Maastricht airport is shared with Aachen, a city in Germany). Visas are required for many nationalities even for short term stays, for more information visit http://www.southtravels.com/europe/netherlands/visa.html.
