These airports are situated in the big cities of in Johannesburg, Cape Town, and Durban. The largest is Johannesburg's Oliver Thambo International Airport, 24km from the city centre and the busiest airport on the continent. Cape Town Airport, the second largest, won an award in 2009 for the best airport in Africa. The country also has a network of domestic airports for travellers who wish to venture further than these main cities and see the beaches and wilderness of the beautiful african continent.
